The Department is seeking to provide grant funding to nonprofit organizations that will provide program information and application assistance to individuals or households that are potentially eligible for SNAP but not currently participating in the program, including tracking application outcomes for households assisted and providing follow-up support as necessary; increase public awareness and knowledge about SNAP; encourage long-term community-based collaborations that enhance SNAP participation in and through COMPASS; and, develop projects that provide for continuation of SNAP outreach efforts within the community beyond the term of the grant.
