ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS MARPLE NEWTOWN SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD OF DIRECTORS, DELAWARE COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT sealed bids will be received by the Marple Newtown School District, 28 Media Line Rd, Newtown Square, Delaware County, Pennsylvania 19073 for Asbestos abatement and related work at the Marple Newtown School Districts’ Loomis Elementary School. All work incidental thereto in accordance with the requirements of the specifications and drawings prepared and supplied by Environmental Control Sys-tems, Inc. Sealed Bids will be received as follows: Contract No. 1 – Asbestos Abatement and Related Work at the Loomis Elementary School. Bids for the above Contract No. 1 (Loomis Elementary School) will be received by the Designated Person for the Board of Education – Environmental Control Systems, Inc at the Marple Newtown School District Administrative Offices located at 28 Media Line Road, Newtown Square, PA 19073 by 2:00 P.M. (Prevailing Time), on March 19, 2019 and will be opened and evaluated for the Public-School Board Meeting on March 26, 2019. Bidders must be pre-qualified by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry and have Certifications to perform any type of asbestos work in accordance with the provisions of the ASBESTOS OCCUPATIONS ACCREDITATIONS and CERTIFICATION ACT. ACT 194-1990. Any bid submitted under the terms of Pennsylvania statues not including a copy of a valid and active Pre-qualification/classification Certificate will be rejected as being non-responsive to bid requirements. Drawings, Specifications and other contract Documents for the proposed work will be available only at the Mandatory pre-bid meeting for a fee of $50.00 (cash, check or money order) payable to Environmental Control Systems, Inc. (ecs_pa@hotmail.com) The Mandatory Pre-Bid Walk-Through conference to be held at 4:00 PM on February 27, 2019 at the Marple Newtown School District Loomis Elementary School, main entrance, located at 369 N. Central Boulevard, Broomall, PA 19008. Directions can be found on the internet. Bids must be made on the proposal forms in the manner designated, enclosed in a sealed envelope with the name and address of the bidder and work bid upon noted on the outside of the envelope. All bids must be accompanied by a Certified Check, Cashier’s check or Bid Bond drawn to the order of the Marple Newtown School District for not less than ten (10%) percent of the amount of the bid, and must be delivered to the School Board Secretary, or the Board’s designated representative at the above location on or prior to the respective time indicated. The Board of Education and/or the Engineers assume no responsibility for bids that are mailed or misdirected in the delivery process. All bidding shall be in conformance with applicable requirements of Pennsylvania State Laws, pertaining to “Public School Contracts Law”. All bidders are hereby placed on notice that they are required to comply with all requirements of Federal, State, Local and current Applicable EPA/DEP regulations. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of at least thirty (30) days after the date indicated above, or upon the engineers’ request. The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to waive informality in the bidding process if it is in the interest of the Board of Directors to do so.
