Sealed bids will be received in the Office of the Westmoreland County Controller, 2 North Main Street, Suite 111, Greensburg, PA 15601, until 2:00 P.M. on March 28, 2023 for BID – RESURFACING OF COUNTY ROADS NO 1 MARGUERITE ROAD, KINGSTON ROAD, DARLINGTON BRIDGE, AND MAMMOTH PARK ROAD AND PARKING LOTS. Bids shall be publicly opened and read aloud at 2:15 P.M. that day in the Commissioners’ Meeting Room #101.
The project is to resurface roads, two parking lots, and a bridge totaling 3.8 miles (61,310 SY) using approximately 7820 tons of 9.5 MM asphalt (leveling and wearing, 200 tons of asphalt binder, 9100 gallons of tack, 56,000 SY of 2” milling, 19,000 feet of centerline rumble strips, and 120,000 feet of line painting.
The minimum wage requirements as determined by the PA Dept of Labor & Industry shall apply to this project. PA DOT prequalification of bidders, including subcontractors for the proposed work is required on this project. Bidders are required to provide Bid Security in the amount of 10% of the total contract price. Liquidated damages in the amount of $100 per day assessed if contract not completed on time. Non-collusion affidavit to be submitted with contract.
The County Commissioners reserve the right to reject any or all bids.
An original and two copies of the complete Bid must be submitted in a sealed envelope, and addressed to the Westmoreland County Controller and clearly marked on the outside of the envelope with the Bidder’s name and address and the designation:
