Description

Castec mold heaters are used to support production during in-process manufacturing within the foundry, BLDG 20 at NFPC. Due to their portability, the Castec mold heaters are stand-alone units with multiple exhaust ductwork ports which offer an easy method of heating molds in multiple locations while maintaining a small footprint. NFPC foundry has used these Castec mold heaters for decades and has designed molds to cohere to this heating method. The Castec mold heater units have special ductwork to allow employees to clamp flexible hosing to heaters which allows easy access to any point of casting to be heated to its own designated design temperature. This method of heating allows all moisture to properly be removed from sand casting prior to molten metal deposition, therefore mitigating the risk of potential explosion.
