SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE - Trailer and Cover System for B-1 Engine for the USAF 311th Recruiting Squadron



1. Introduction: THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY – This notice is issued solely for information and planning purposes, as a means for the Government to conduct market research, identifying interested parties and their capability to provide a suitable trailer and cover system to transport, store, and display a permanently mounted jet engine weighing 6800lbs, measuring 17’1” x 4’3 x 8’1” for the USAF 311th RCS in accordance with (IAW) the attached draft Statement of Work (SOW).



Responses to this notice will be considered and will help the Government dictate a path forward. All business categories will be considered to include large businesses.



2. Delivery:




  • 311 RCS will pick up trailer/cover system in continental USA.

  • Trailer will be ready for pickup within 10 weeks of award.

  • 311 RCS Personnel will have 4 weeks to pick up trailer from completion date to pick up trailer.

  • Vendor will store trailer up to 4 weeks from completion free of charge.

Requests for a solicitation will not receive a response. This notice does not constitute a commitment by the United States Government to contract for any service whatsoever. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary; the United States Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the United States Government. Not responding to this notice does not preclude participation in any future RFQ, if any is issued. It is the responsibility of the potential offerors to monitor this site for additional information pertaining to this requirement.



4. Contractor Capability: 87 Contracting Squadron is seeking a vendor capable of providing a trailer rated and structurally sufficient to safely transport and display a B-1 Jet Engine as a show piece for recruiting, weighing 6800lbs, measuring 17’1” long by 4’3” wide by 8’3” tall, during standard road operating conditions being pulled by a ball hitch with a total weight under 15,000 lbs. Cover system will cover above dimensions from the trailer bed and be highway safe, weatherproof and manually retractable by two people.



5. Responses to Notice: Responses to this notice shall be limited to three pages and submitted on SAM.gov, GSA E-Buy, and by email to Contract Specialist, Ms. Christina Vargas (christina.vargas.1@us.af.mil), and Contracting Officer, Edward Sherwood at (edward.sherwood@us.af.mil).



Responses are due no later than Tuesday, 22 AUG 2023 by 4pm Eastern Standard Time.

The applicable NAICS code for this requirement is 336212 with a Small Business Size Standard of 1,000 Employees. The Product Service Code is 2330. Businesses of all sizes are encouraged to respond; however, each respondent must clearly identify their business size in their response under the applicable NAICS of 336212.



Respondents shall not be obligated to provide the services/items described herein.





Responses from interested vendors should address the following items:



Confirmation that your company can provide the requested items in the SOW.



Provide company socio-economic status (i.e. Small, Small Disadvantages Women-Owned, etc.) under identified NAICS and company profile to include, CAGE Code, DUNs number. Also, please provide the GSA contract number and SIN the products are available under.
