Maintenance of an established composting system on Philadelphia Department of Prison (PDP) grounds, that includes the collection of organized material from various facilities (the Philadelphia Prison is a campus comprised of several individual facilities) and transporting to a centralized location on PDP grounds. Collections will be performed on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from at least one (1) facility, to be transported to the centralized location. The vendor will maintain and operate the composting system(s) and work with both PDP staff and PDP incarcerated persons to assist in performing the composting services. Requirements Contract for the period of 7/1/23 - 6/30/24 with option for up to three (3) one year renewals.

The vendor would also be required to provide education and instruction to those involved, in the composting program. The vendor would operate cohesively with a local University, on PDP grounds, to provide operational and hands-on work experience, with respect to compost operations and aerated static pile systems. The selected vendor would be able to provide educational instruction for the PDP comprehensive vocational certificate program that is overseen by a local University and held on PDP grounds (Approx: two (2) formal instructional sessions per year)
