Description:

Looking for a portable handheld x-ray system to be used in all DOC facilities to discover and identify multiple forms of contraband. The x-ray system must be able to perform true lead detection defined as the ability to detect lead and to identify the chemical composition of an object as lead. The x-ray system will utilize both backscatter and transmission type technology. All system components must present the smallest footprint allowing for use in the most restrictive spaces. The System components should integrate in a way that allow for the least number of components, permitting the system and its components to perform as a single unit, promoting ease of use for a single operator or staff member. The system should favor the least number of realignments of the transmission panel. For security reasons the x-ray system will not utilize any wireless technology for the transmission of backscatter or transmission scan data. The entire system should operate from a single source of power.
