Description:

The Commonwealth of PA State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation Intelligence Division needs to order a Sea Scan ARC Explorer MK11 900/1800 System with Getac that is a side scan sonar tool that produces detailed images of the underwater environment. This device scans several hundred feet with each pass of the waterborne vessel, allowing large areas to be searched quickly and efficiently. This necessary device enables law enforcement to conduct sonar scans near bridge supports, dams, and ship hulls in the various ports and bodies of water across the Commonwealth for detecting and identifying unnatural objects like explosive devices that may be attached to a submerged structure and utilized as a means to commit criminal or terrorist activities.
